Traditional 32-oz. reusable water bottles are great, but they're inconvenient and difficult to wash. The average-sized hand cannot fit into the opening of one of these bottles and therefore people can't effectively wash the interior of the water bottle. The opportunity arises because there is a need for a 32-oz. style reusable water bottle that has a larger mouth to support easier washing.
My product will mirror all of the established good qualities of 32-oz. reusable water bottles but will also have a larger mouth. Another desirable quality of the water bottle is it's environmentally friendly. Sustainability is very important to me because I spend so much time outside, so I wanted to create a bottle that would benefit the user and the Earth. My bottle will be recycled, BPA-free, non-insolated and reusable. The bottle will come in three sizes (24, 32, and 48 oz.), all of which will be convenient to wash.

ReplyDeleteI see that you stuck with your original solution. I think this is great and I would definitely consider purchasing one if they were actually on the market. I wonder what your though process is as far as branding. Would you create your own water bottle, or pitch this idea to a preexisting company such as nalgene? How will you combat complaints about the wider mouth being more difficult to drink from?Again, I appreciate the time you took to consider the environment in this process and I think the solution you've come up with is very simple and effective.

ReplyDeleteI really like this idea and the more I think about it, it seems like a no brainer. I'm not sure why all bottle manufacturers don't make it in a way that allows the user to easily wash it without having to wait for it in the dishwasher. I would definitely be interested in seeing this idea actually come to market, whether through its own brand or accompanying an existing bottle manufacturer.

ReplyDeleteI would totally by this water bottle. Water bottles today are such a hassle to clean out and this solves that issue completely. I think an inner cooling or heating system might help move more product as this is a big issue I have had. Aside from that, I feel as though the water bottle market might be tough because people already have brand loyalty.

ReplyDeleteI like your solution however I think you need to be careful of making the opening too wide and therefore making it difficult to drink out of. Besides that however this is a great solution and I would buy this product. The ease of being able to clean reusable bottles by hand is definitely worth the price of a new bottle and I think you could capitalize on this opportunity well.
